Fairweather Porch Fairweather Lobby This historic property was first deeded in 1863, and has served various owners as an "Eating House", Butcher Shop, Saloon & Hotel, and Dormitory. Known as the Anaconda Hotel/Saloon, the property was purchased by Charles and Sue Bovey in 1946. Renamed for Bill Fairweather, the building was remodeled and reopened for business in 1946.

Although the Fairweather Inn is far different from the simple 1863 restaurant that is preserved within its walls, the history of this building spans the Montana Gold Mining days from 1863 to 1935. Located in the heart of Virginia City within walking distance to all attractions, entertainment, and restaurants.

Room One Room Six Each room is uniquely furnished with antiques collected by the Bovey's. High back beds on the main floor reflect the history of the 1860's. On the top floor antique beds represent the late period gold mining years when the Fairweather was a dormitory. Six of the rooms have private baths, and the other eight rooms share facilities “down the hall” much like hotel rooms in the late 1800’s. Your stay at the Fairweather Inn will set the stage for a unique experience in this historic 1800's gold mining community. It is truly "history to stay in..."

The Fairweather Inn has fourteen rooms for rent. Six rooms have en suite bathrooms. Eight rooms have sinks en suite, and share a separate bath or shower. If you need a robe just ask at the desk, we will be happy to provide one for you. Rates for rooms with private baths are $80.00 for two people. Rates for rooms with facilities "down the hall" are $70.00 for two people. The tax rate is 10%. Additional guests staying in any room are $7.50 per person. Guests enjoy significant savings on tickets to the Nevada City Museum. Please ask when you arrive if you are interested in participating.
